To move and feel better in you body and life – this is my goal for you. Through Balanced Motion Therapy and Massage Therapy, let’s enjoy the journey together. I am humbled and honoured to serve you in your wellness goals!

A movement therapist through yoga, pilates and personal training for over 25 years, and an RMT since 2014, I love all things anatomy and physiology. I dare say, it is my passion. I am a deep believer in community – community with other humans, community of the heart, community within our bodies! Our whole cannot be well if one part is neglected.

My Massage Therapy treatment style incorporates myofascial release, trigger point pressure release, blended with active and passive movement. I do my best to get to the source of your pain and discomfort, movement inefficiencies, and work with you to move back into balance and optimal musculoskeletal health.

My work and recreation dovetail through my curiosity for back country backpacking, road biking, my yoga studies, nutrition, mindful living. I do my best to give myself unscheduled white space in my life so I can create, play, and do not much at all. See you soon in my treatment room!

Ryoko Takase Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Thai massage stretch & Ayurvedic-Inspired body work

To help you feel at ease in your body — this is my goal for you. Through Foot Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Thai Massage, and Meridian-based bodywork, let’s work together toward true relaxation and balance. I am honoured to support you on your wellness journey. For over 10 years, I have devoted myself to the art and science of touch. My practice draws from a wide range of modalities — from foot reflexology and deep tissue to Thai massage stretch, and meridian theory. Alongside my massage practice, I am also a certified Yoga Instructor, which has deepened my understanding of movement, breath, and the body’s natural range of motion. I have also taught therapy ball classes, a myofascial release technique using small balls to relieve tension and restore mobility. I believe the body speaks through tension, and my role is to listen closely and respond with the right technique at the right depth. In Japan, I specialized in treatments combining head massage with techniques to relieve eye strain, shoulder tension, and neck stiffness — as well as an Ayurvedic-inspired treatment using warm oil applied to the third eye, designed to ease deep mental and nervous system fatigue at its root. My treatment approach blends Eastern and Western philosophies: meridian-based, energy-aware bodywork with the structural release of deep tissue and stretch. I pay close attention to the nervous system as much as the muscles — true relief comes when both are invited to relax together. It’s no surprise that nearly all of my clients drift off to sleep during their session; that stillness is often the clearest sign the body has let go. I use a moderate to deep pressure, adjusting to what each body needs in the moment. Every session is a conversation between my hands and your body, not a fixed routine. My aim is simple: to help you leave feeling lighter, more balanced, and more at home in yourself. Background With a decade of hands-on experience, I have built my practice around a diverse toolkit of modalities: • Foot Reflexology — targeted pressure on the feet to support whole-body wellness • Deep Tissue Massage — addressing chronic tension and restriction in deeper muscle layers • Thai Massage — assisted stretching and rhythmic compression for mobility and flow • Meridian Therapy — working with the body’s energy pathways to support overall balance • Ayurvedic-Inspired Head Massage Treatments — relieving eye strain, shoulder tension, and neck stiffness with Shirodhara (third-Eye Oil Treatment) easing deep mental and nervous system fatigue • Yoga Instruction — certified to teach adults, children. • Therapy Ball Method — a myofascial release technique using small balls to relieve tension and restore mobility, which I have also taught to others.

I have been practicing at Toe to Soul Massage Lounge in Kelowna since it opened, and have been proud to be part of the team for 3 years. I am currently furthering my education toward becoming a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), continuing to deepen both the clinical and holistic sides of my practice.
